A bit of an explanation...
Once upon a time, likely while trapped in the car on a long drive, Kyle and Jillian got to talking about where they'd want to take a honeymoon. It didn't take too long to realize that neither of them like any of the traditional honeymoon spots. They've been to Niagara falls. They don't gamble. They don't like beaches. So they decided that maybe it would be best if they did a unconventional honeymoon.
Back in the day, Kyle decided that it would be a fun idea to ride his bike from Gettysburg, PA where they both went to college, to Vestal, NY, where he's from. Jillian and another friend followed along in a car. While he bailed out just twenty miles short of his goal due to safety concerns, he did discover his love for long distance cycling. Could this love be combined with a honeymoon? And could he convince Jillian, who prefers shorter and faster athletic endeavors, to go along?
Both Kyle and Jillian thought about how much a normal honeymoon costs, and what they wanted to get of their own, and decided that maybe it would be a good idea if they rode a tandem bicycle across the country.
Jillian, being the English major she is, thought it would be a great idea if they blogged about their trip. Since this trip would be so close to the start of their marriage, they both thought it would be fun to create a record of their thoughts at each step of the adventure. To make it even more fun, they're not going to read each other's entries until the trip is over.
So please follow along with us as we start our greatest journey, whether it's on the bike or off. Just don't send us any emails, Facebook messages, tweets, smoke signals, telegrams, snail mails, or other communications that might cause us to learn something about what the other one wrote!
