Gift Registries
Really, really, honestly - what's important to us is your presence. But if you want to give us presents as well, read on.
We've registered in one traditional place - Bed, Bath & Beyond. We also registered on Amazon, though mostly for fun, and often very individualized gifts. It does include some joint items for the honeymoon, such as high quality dog spray. We're not saying that we'll need it. We are saying that the dog who chases after us will regret it later.
Remember that both of these registries remain a work in progress. We'll probably keep adding things to them right up until the day of the ceremony.
There are a couple of other things we need that don't really fit on a traditional registry.
The TransAmerica set of cycling maps from the Adventure Cycling Association. We know we won't be on the route the entire way. But we will be on it for a good portion of the way, and from what we've read, these maps (which contain notes about every town on the way, including places that are good to stay as well as roads to avoid) are indispensable.
And a couple more items from them. A map case makes reading maps a lot easier in the wind and rain. This one is sized appropriately for the maps above, fitting them perfectly. An inclinommeter keeps track of the current road gradient. Not necessary information, but fun to know. It'd be nice to be able to brag about those 12 and 15 percent grades we'll be climbing.
Of course, we would also really appreciate fincancial assistance. We know it's a really boring gift, but it takes a lot of money to ride across the country. We could really use your help, and you can always stick it in a funny card.
